Q. How do I create my Online Resume?
A. Click Here for a video tutorial.
Q. How do I embed a video of me acting in my profile for producers to see?
A. Upload your video to YouTube or other video service. We'll use YouTube as an example. Once your video is uploaded, select "Share" from underneath the video. Then select "Embed code" and then below that make sure the smallest screen size is highlighted (560 x315). Copy and paste the embed code into your PATA profile and SAVE your profile. Presto! Your video appears.
Q.: I have lost my password. Help!
A.: It's frustrating, we know, but with our new website it's much easier than before and usually you can reset your password without any human intervention necessary.
- Go to the login page and select: "I forgot my password" and fill in the requested information.
- A new temporary password will be generated by the computer system and emailed to you within 20 minutes.
- If you don't receive your temporary password or the system does not accept your login (perhaps you have changed your email since you last logged in?).
- If something like that happens, please contact our office and we will respond as quickly as possible during normal office hours (Mon & Friday 1-5pm), and sooner during regular business hours if one of our volunteer board members is available.
- Please note that business and company members don't use their email addresses to log in, but a top secret code word! If you forget your top secret code word we can tell you what that is, so just email us at info@portlandtheatre.com or call the office and leave a message with the best times to reach you so we can help you retrieve a password and get going again right away.
Q. How can my company add a listing to the calendar or the events page?
A. Join ChooseCulture at https://www.chooseculture.org/
Q.: I want to post something to the Info/Events & Callboard page. How can I do that?
A.: In order to post something on the information/events & callboard page, you must be an associated business or a theatre company member. Once you log in with your company membership if you hover over the top navigation bar for "Members Only" you will see a "Manage Company Profile" and a "Manage Company Postings" option.
- Select "Manage Callboard/Event Postings"
- Select type: Audition/Class/Event/Help Wanted/Production Notice/Workshop
- Complete the form. Be sure to list the date and time of your event in the headline
Companies may enter up to 2 items for the information/events & callboard page. We will be enhancing this feature in the future, but for now you should be sure to include the date and time in the headline. These items automatically expire after 30 days (just like on Craigslist).
Q.: I want to post something to the "Discounts and Resources" page. How do I do that?
A.: In order to post to the Discounts & Resources page, you must be a PATA company or business member. Simply log in and under "Members Only" you will see "Manage Discounts & Resources." Unlike the callboard & events listings, these discounts and resources do not expire as long as your membership is current! You may post up to two PATA member discounts and resource notices with your membership.
Q.: I have a space that would be great for rehearsals or recitals and I want to let the theatre community know about it so I can rent it out and make some extra cash! How do I do that?
A.: That great because producers in town are always looking for available spaces that are reasonably priced! With your PATA business or company membership, you can post up to two space rental listings and they never expire as long as your membership is current. Just log in and under "Members Only" you will see "Manage Rentals." Complete the online listing form and click "submit."
Q.: Other children's photos appear in the rotation on the site, but my child does not. What gives?
A.: PATA's board voted to restrict access to photos of children under 18 from rotating on the site sidebars. This can be voided by a parent selecting "age not specified" from the drop down box. Even once you select "age not specified" please keep in mind that the site has photos of over 400 members and whether a photo comes up or not is 100% at random. It could take well over 40 clicks of the "refresh" button to see your child's photo on the site just once. All members and local theatre companies have access 24/7 to the information you have provided on the site about child actors so please rest assured that information is available whenever producers, directors or others casting a show are looking for young people. PATA prefers that young people under 18 have their ages correctly marked in order to more appropriately assist the database searches of producers and directors.
Questions regarding the online Resume Builder
Q. I see that my city name posts to the online/printable resume. Is our city a requirement for the online resume?
A. Your address is not required. Only the city and state are printed on the resume. If you do not enter it on your profile, it will not appear on the resume.
Q. After entering our data, could PATA give us the ability to have our credits displayed in the order we desire, so that the resume will print as we would wish?
A. Credits on the resume are arranged in order of year then the order in which they were entered. Note: We will be adding functionality so that you can determine the order these items appear. For now, these appear in date order, newest on top.
Q. I would like to take an acting class or private study again in the future. Can I include in the online resume education section?
A. Regarding the training classes, please use "TRNG-COMPLETED" to add miscellaneous items such as workshops, ongoing classes, private study, etc. and list the instructor.
Q. We are a theatre company and our show isn't showing up in the "Show Calendar." How does that work?
A. Is your event listed at http://www.pdxcc.net/ The Show Calendar on PATA is a special computer script that pulls only theatre events off that website into our own calendar. It's operated by Portland Cultural Calendar. It's free to add listings. If you have never listed an item before and have questions, just email them at setup@boxofficetickets.com or give them a call at (800) 494-8497.Don't see your question here?
